My Letter to Peter

Our teacher is reading us the book Superfudge, by Judy Blume.  We wrote to Peter about our  little sisters and brothers, and about how they can be annoying too.

I really like the book.  They can be annoying, but you still love them.

Some good things about Hanukkah

Some good things about Hanukkah this year are, 1. My moms homemade latkes,  2. Playing with our 110 dreidels,  3. Lightning the Menorah, 4. Eating Jelly Doughnuts, 5. Having Gelt, 6.  Seeing cousins  7.  Singing Hanukkah songs   and finally,

8. Opening presents!!!

My Mother-Daughter Book Club

I joined a Book Club for 3rd grade girls and their moms.   The book that we interviewed was "Hannah Divided."    We read the book for a month and then we met up after we finished it.



We went to the book club at 7pm and came home at 9pm, so it is 2 hours long.  The theme for us was gender stereotypes.  A gender stereotype is when you put girls and boys in groups and say they are one thing instead of saying they are unique.  People say to Hannah that even though she is a math prodigy and wants to go after her dreams at math, they say fancy math isn't for girls.



Everybody brought their own food, it had to be vegan because 2 of us are vegetarian and 2 of us are vegan.  It was really yummy.  We brought olive tapenade with bread, someone brought pumpkin spice muffins, someone brought eggrolls, and there was ribbon candy and water.  I liked everything but most of all I liked the ribbon candy.

Ms. Stacy, the leader, asked us questions and we had discussions about the book.  My favorite part of the book club was being with different girls and having fun with them.

I think it's good to do a mother-daughter book club because it's fun and it's good to talk about books and have an opinion about the same book.

We meet again January 6 and the theme is body image.  We have to watch Hairspray and read this book here.  

I love book club!

No School

When I don't have school in the morning, I like to sleep late, because I never have time to sleep late on school days.

Then I like to have a BIG breakfast of waffles, whipped cream, and syrup.

I play outside after that, on my playground, it's very fun. I go on my swings, slide, and treehouse.

That's what I do in the morning when there is no school.

Thanksgiving Desserts

Today I have a guest with me on my blog.  It is Mrs. Paul! We are both making pie. I am making chocolate pie, and Mrs. Paul is making key lime pie. These are the ingredients for chocolate pie:

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

4 oz heavy whipping cream

1/3 cup milk

2 eggs

1 vegan pie crust (you can buy it or make it, I buy it)

Directions: Bake crust 10 minutes alone. Slowly add whipping cream and milk to pan and heat up.  Remove from heat and melt chocolate chips and whisk together.  Add eggs at the end and pour into crust.  Bake at 350 for 14 minutes.  You can eat it hot but we like it better cold from the fridge.

Mrs. Paul used these ingredients for key lime pie:

graham cracker pie crust

key lime juice (1/2 cup)

sweet condensed milk (1 can)

cool whip (fat free or regular-8 oz)

blend together and pour into crust

ENJOY!!!      :)  keep refrigerated or in the freezer.

Being Kind

I can be kind to someone I don't even know by; saying,  "do you need help?" Or picking up something that they can't pick up. And smile.

It feels good when you are kind to someone you don't know.  

My Pets

I have 11 beanie boo pets.   Here are the names:  Pinkey, Swoops, Oscar, Leaona, Ellie, Ming, Sydney, Sqeaker, Fantaishia, Wishful, and finally, Safari. I will show you a picture.⤵️↙️

I bought all of them with my own money. I think that is impressive.

My Wild Self

This is my wild self.  My adaptations for the butterfly wings are, I need them for flying, and also for getting nectar.

I need the peacock tail for beauty, and pride.

And I need the peacock feathers on my head to make sure I don't hit my head on tree branches, and also for blending in with trees.

Trading Places

If  I could trade places with anyone for one day, I would choose a

gymnast, because I love gymnastics.  And because I'm all about action.

And then I would be a ballet dancer, because dancing is really fun.

I would  be a gymnast for a little bit of the day, and I would also be a ballet dancer for a little bit of the day.

I would also want to be an ice skater for a little bit of the day because I have always wanted to go ice skating.

Flux Capacitor

This is a Flux Capacitor.

But I call it a Diamond Flower.    Or a Flower Crystal Light. It is so pretty to me.  I am pretty sure it takes you back in time, but Flux Capacitors don't exist. People make it up in movies, like, "Back to the Future."

Peggy's Letter

We wrote letters as characters from The Hundred Dresses. I was Peggy and Sadie was Maddie.  At first Peggy teases Wanda but then she is nice in the end.  Maddie wants Peggy to stop teasing Wanda but then she decides not to tell her to stop because she is afraid then she will get teased.  But either way Wanda is still nice.

Do you know what introvert is?

Do you know what introvert is? It is a shy person. I am mostly a introvert. A lot of people think introverts are not confident- but that is not true!

I am an introvert and I am very very confident.  Just sometimes I don't like to talk to adults or strangers.  I also do not like to raise my hand and talk in a group or have friends cheering for me.  I think people should respect introverts even if they don't talk to you-even if you asked them a question and they don't answer-- because they have a different view to the world.

Library Leaders

I'm a library leader. Mrs. Hallet emailed me. I'm so excited! I had to fill out a whole application and say why I'd be good. I start Friday.📚

Last post of summer

Here are my last reviews for summer!  I am reading Mr. Lemoncello's Library right now, but I'll probably still be reading it when school starts.

Fluttershy and the Fine Furry Friends Fair was because I have finished all the my little pony chapter books series! And its the best book I read in the series

Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the Deep was because it was scary, but the best book yet I have read in the emily windsnap series. The 6th book in the series is coming out in September.

I have read 25 books for the challenge!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck was  .  because now I have almost read all the books in the series!!! It is a really funny book.

Mermaid Tales Polar Bear Express was . Because in the book a baby polar bear is stranded out in sea and the mermaids have to find a way to get him back home. I liked it.

Before the Bell was . Because it is my favorite series, and  in the book a fairy sneaks into one of the girls backpacks when she goes to school and gets lost.
